Waiting in the airport

We are in the airport waiting for our plane. We tried to upgrade to 1st class but they were all full. We even got as crazy as changing flights if there were first class seats available. No luck. Andy is alright but a little on edge :(. The planes take off really steep out of this airport so I feel bad for him. (I am kinda excited about it though shhh)

Now we will leave you with some random pics and sunset ones from last night :)

This was a chip shaped like a heart : )

See you guys soon!

Last Day In Paradise!

Today is our last day then it is back to reality and work? We have both been off of work for so long its going to be an adjustment! haha We are sad to leave but also looking forward to getting home and getting back into the swing and our regular schedules. As good as Village Pizzeria is we are looking forward to some home cooked meals too. Today we slept in a bit lounged around in the hotel room and then went off to explore around the hotel. This place is pretty neat we found a garden area with fresh herbs and tomatoes and these beach villas that you can stay in that have kitchens and bathtubs outside! The 3 bedroom with kitchen goes for $3,000 a night!

This is from the beach side looking back at Hotel Del

We were walking along beach sidewalk stopped to take it all in.

Just one of the many garden areas at the Hotel.

These were on one end of the hotel.. so cool!

Beach Villa's

see the bath tub with glass around it!

This tree was in the movie some like it hot. It was planted before the turn of the century and is native to the Canary Islands

This was the first electrically lit Christmas tree in 1904

The Village Pizzeria is the main reason that Andy and I are coming back to Coronado. It is that good! haha ok maybe its not the main reason but its definitely top 5. The first night we got here we ate there and waited about 2 hours to eat. We have been there two more times since and we get right in haha Labor day this place was super busy but now its a ghost town.

The pic below is from the outside looking into the Crown Room. They have a Sunday brunch in this room and then we think it must only be for special events because you couldn't go inside the doors were always closed. We were bummed about that cause we wanted photos! The crown chandeliers were so cool and the ceiling was all wood and awesome looking.

We have about 1,000 photos and will have to show you all some others when we get home. We will see you all soon! Love you!

Sea World & Good Mexican Food

We hit up Sea World today. Just like everything else we have done it wasn't what we expected. We bought combo tickets at Universal Studios though so we already had them and could skip the line! We saw the sea lion show and dolphin show. Shamu was closed so we didn't get to see that one boo! Ironically as I wrote that it came on the news that one of the killer whales died today and that is why it was closed. That is really sad.

mid yawn!

The whale on the left was 47 years old and weighed around 3,000lbs! The other one was her baby too I think?

You could buy little plates of fish and feed them. I got some video but they would just bark at the people with the fish til they threw some at them it was super funny. There were these white birds that would steal the fish right out of kids hands too!

I can explain this to those who don't know the background :)

I pet the bat rays (mini sting rays) they were super slimey! You could feed them too but we didn't have quarters.

After Sea World we went to Old Town. People from home had told me we had to try the Old Town Mexican Cafe and they were right. It was so good. There are these women who make tortillas all day long right at front of the restaurant. They were so good!

We are back at the hotel just hanging. Going to check out the Mootime Creamery tonight probably. Try and catch a sunset and just relax. Tomorrow we don't have anything planned. We might go to Vegas and get married though. Oh wait. Check.

USS Midway

Today we went into San Diego and toured the USS Midway. This ship was HUGE! It took us about 3 hours to walk through the whole thing. Halfway through our tour we ate at the cafe that is on board. We paid $7.50 for one average sized hot dog, $8 for nachos and $3 for a 20oz pepsi. Talk about a rip off... but we were suckers for it.

Torpedoes?

It's amazing to see how big some of these jets and helicopters really are. They look so much smaller in pictures.

This is the steering wheel of this massive ship.

This is the seat where the Airboss sits. He is basically the manager of the flight deck. It's like, do all those buttons really do things? :)

Sara with our tour guide.

Chief Petty Officer's dining quarters.

What Paul would've worn had he lived in the 1700's.

America has a bigger navy than the next 7 countries combined.

After the USS Midway adventure, we headed into downtown San Diego. It seems much much different than LA. It's a lot more laid back here. More our speed! After downtown we slowly made our way back to the hotel. Went to the bar and had a drink. Spent $23 for 2 cocktails. I don't know why we keep mentioning how much stuff costs, but everything is SO ridiculously overpriced. But I guess that doesn't matter when you're made of money. I wish we were made of money :)

Tomorrow we're off to Sea World!
